Launched by the irreverence and innovation of its founder, Edgar Valentim, Gelito is proud to have been the first Portuguese company producing and distributing food ice and to have continued, over more than 30 years, to lead its speciality, adapting to the needs and demands of the times and the policies inherent to its area of activity.
We have a structure with 3 production lines and an installed capacity of 100 tonnes/day, which allows large-scale production with the best quality standards, in accordance with the demands of our customers and partners all year round and especially during the summer.
In order to get our products to consumers, Gelito has two different distribution systems:
A direct operating system, through our own distribution platforms in the North, in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, and in Algarve;A network of agents, which supports the coverage of the remaining national territory with 24/7 deliveries. |

Because our goal is the supply of ice food in a balanced and sustained way, we have invested in the innovation of our productive processes, in the optimization of procedures and working methods, and in the diversification of our offer, having a range of different types of ice, according to the needs of our customers. |

Gelito has also invested in the acquisition of new equipment and ice machines, in order to increase production capacity and make electricity consumption more efficient, with the aim of meeting the demands of the market. The requalification and modernisation of infrastructures has also been a constant, with the expansion of the business requiring an increase in the areas dedicated to automation and storage. |
